A Letter to Grant Blvd’s Beloved Community

When I founded Grant Blvd in 2017, I aspired to prove that what we wear could reflect what we stand for. I wanted to build a first-of-its-kind fashion company in Philadelphia that honored human dignity,  one that employed individuals facing barriers to work, paid living wages, and used sustainably sourced materials with fidelity.

Over the course of 8 years, we achieved more than just the design, grading, and production of garments exclusively in Philadelphia. We built tenacity where defeat once lived. We created art without exploitation. We demonstrated that social entrepreneurship could be refined, disciplined, and premium, not loud, not performative, but principled.

Grant Blvd was my offering to an industry built on speed and extraction. It was evidence that an intersectional business could hold conscience and craftsmanship in the same hand.

That chapter matters still, because the questions it asked remain urgent:

• Can moral leadership reset our standards?
• Can design repair? 

I believed then, and I believe now, that the answer is yes.
